Those who can, do… but those who want, do more. So mimics the career path of Amber Thomas, President & CEO of Platinum Top 50. A native of San Antonio who grew up watching her father work in the real estate community, Amber attended college at the University of Texas, graduating in 2005 with a love for Austin, a passion for Longhorn football, and a BS in Advertising. She returned to San Antonio after school to work as the Director of Marketing for Scott’s Inspections and three years later became owner of PT50.
Since 2008, the business has boomed under Amber’s leadership; entries into the program increase every year and the company continues to reinvent itself to stay on top of what’s new in the marketplace. In 2011, PT50 expanded to Austin. Amber continues not only to do, but also to do more for her clients – she recognizes the privilege she has to acknowledge deserving realtors, highlighting their professional and civic leaderships. Though Amber loves her work so much her mind is constantly thinking of new ways to bring value, she does find time to spend Saturdays at the park with her children, travel with her husband, and play hostess for dinner parties with friends.
Fun fact: During college, Amber lived in Spain where she explored the country and backpacked through Europe with little more than $650 and a Euro-rail Pass.
Often, one important life choice can lead a person to their future… Which is exactly what brought Kelly Maizel to Platinum Top 50 as Client Services and Special Events Manager. Kelly was born and raised in San Antonio, the youngest of three girls and the daughter of a custom homebuilder. After graduating TMI – The Episcopal School of Texas – she chose to Rock Chalk Jayhawk as a college student at the University of Kansas.
With a BS in Psychology and plans to move to Atlanta or Washington DC, Kelly instead decided to move back to San Antonio and join Image Homes, a local custom builder, where she oversaw more than $15M in development projects. Her four-year stint at Image Homes introduced Kelly to PT50, where she has worked since 2010. Moving back to Texas after college led Kelly to a job she loves – planning PT50 events, working directly with clients, and being a part of an ever growing and changing company. On the weekends, Kelly loves to explore the city through the eyes of her daughter and son, FaceTime with her best friends who live far away, and spend quality downtime with her friends and family.
Fun fact: Kelly has seen every episode of “Friends” and can quote most episodes with little prodding from others.

Ashley grew up in El Paso, Texas, where her love for art sparked at a young age. She pursued her college education in the border city of Las Cruces by attending New Mexico State University. Upon receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in graphic design, Ashley returned to Texas to refine her skills. Presented with an opportunity to move to the big city of Dallas, she jumped at the chance to expand her portfolio. Throughout her career, Ashley has created wall murals and worked closely with several well known magazines by creating modern layouts and advertisements for print. The addition of skills such as event, portrait and product photography along with the development of package design for a doctor’s skincare line led her to the next opportunity in 2018. This time Ashley worked for a large company that managed over 300 brands and products. This role quickly became a favorite because of the challenge to create products with anti-counterfeit design elements.
Digitally she is skilled in email campaigns, website content, and social advertisements for promotions. In 2019, Ashley found her heart and home in the town of San Antonio. Inspired by the fun and boldness of Platinum Top 50, Ashley was excited to become the Graphic Designer. With seven years of experience, she embraces the challenges and excitement of the dynamic PT50 family. Ashley enjoys playing video and board games with her fiancé, stepson, and others close to her. On most Saturdays, you will find her on the sidelines of a soccer field supporting her stepson in their shared favorite sport.
Fun Fact: Ashley played the role of Frenchy in Grease during her senior year of high school. To this day she loves musical theatre and even though she can't sing (Frenchy is the only main character that does not sing), it never stops her from having fun singing along!
